I began reviewing theater in undergrad at the University of Champaign-Urbana in 2014 with the campus publication Smile Politely. In an effort to see more theatre without spending my precious minimum wage dollars on tickets, I began writing theater criticism around Chicago. From 2015-2018, I wrote for Perform.Ink and then later, for Newcity Stage. This was my gateway into the Chicago theater community. I still occasionally "review" shows on my Instagram account, to continue to document and celebrate the ephemeral ecosystem of Chicago theatre. 🎭
